As for its previous editions, BREST 2008 will be more or less respecting the overall plan, where 1/3 of the boats remain moored up, 1/3 manoeuvre around the harbour area and 1/3 set sail for a nautical excursion in the roads. However, this year, the major innovation will be the new Castle Marina jetty, which will change completely the harbour area, offering a new 400 metre long grandstand stretching out towards the breakwater. This viewpoint is at the heart of the arrangements and means major changes to the events and nautical shows at the festival.
Un parcours de 1,3 nautiques
Four buoys will mark a 1.3 nautical mile course, around which the parade will sail, circle, with a manoeuvres competition or simple rounding under sail. Whatever type of event is organised, the most important thing is that everything can be seen easily by everyone. An enjoyable sight, but also the ideal way to appreciate the wide range of what is included within our maritime heritage.
